An authentic culinary immersion to understand the island, in places booking platforms don't show.
Most travelers eat in well-rated, easy-to-find, "safe" restaurants, designed first and foremost for tourists.
The food is often good. But the experience stays shallow.
You eat
You take pictures
You leave without truly understanding the island
In Saint Martin, every dish tells a story.
But that story is almost never told in tourist restaurants.

Immersions designed to let you experience Saint Martin's gastronomic culture from the inside
Not a tour. A true cultural immersion – You don’t visit places. You are welcomed into them.
Every dish tells a story – You don’t just taste local food, you understand why it exists.
No crowds. No tourist routes – Small groups or private experiences only, never mass tourism.
Curated, not improvised – Each experience is carefully prepared in advance with trusted local partners.
Zero logistics for you – You simply show up on time, hungry and enjoy.
Leaving with a real memory.

But if you want to understand Saint Martin through its gastronomy, there is only one.
Island Friend Food Tours are culinary immersions designed to help you discover Saint Martin through its local food culture.
They are not classic tourist tours, but carefully prepared experiences with family-run restaurants and local artisans.
Island Friend does not offer mass tourism experiences.
Groups are intentionally small, locations are often invisible on booking platforms, and every dish comes with its story.
You don’t just eat, you understand the island.
Depending on the immersion, you may discover iconic Saint Martin specialties such as:
- Johnny Cakes
- Traditional patties
- Local products and Creole spices
- Guavaberry and other local specialties
Tastings may vary depending on availability and the selected route.
No.
Everything is handled by Island Friend.
You simply need to arrive on time, come hungry and be open to discovering the island !
We currently offer two culinary immersions:
- Marigot: the historical and popular heart of local gastronomy (start near the Tourism Office Spot)
- Grand-Case: the gastronomic village, focused on sharing and transmission
Exact itineraries are intentionally shared on the day of the experience.
Food Tours are conducted in small groups only, to preserve the quality of the experience and real interaction with local partners.
These are not tours with 30 or 50 people.
Island Friend Food Tours are ideal for:
- curious travelers
- food lovers
- travelers looking for authentic experiences
They are less suitable for people seeking quick or purely tourist activities.
